The Price County Weather Chrome extension ("the extension") is provided by PriceCounty.fun at no cost. This privacy policy describes how the extension handles data.

Data Collection

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication data, personal communications, web history, user activity, or website content.

Data Storage

The extension uses Chrome's local storage API to save:

• Your preferred Price County location (one of: Park Falls, Phillips, Fifield, Prentice, or Catawba)
• Your temperature unit preference (Fahrenheit or Celsius)
• Cached weather data from the most recent fetch (for instant popup display)

All stored data remains on the user's device. No data is synced to the cloud or transmitted to any server.

Data Transmission

The extension fetches weather data from two public APIs:

• OpenWeatherMap API (api.openweathermap.org) — sends geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) for the selected Price County city to retrieve current conditions and 5-day forecast
• NWS API (api.weather.gov) — sends a zone identifier (WIZ011) to retrieve active severe weather alerts for Price County

No user data, browsing data, or personal information is sent to these APIs. Only geographic coordinates for Price County cities are transmitted.

Permissions

• alarms — Used to schedule periodic weather data refreshes every 30 minutes
• storage — Used to save location and unit preferences locally
• Host permissions (api.openweathermap.org, api.weather.gov) — Used to fetch weather data and alerts

Third-Party Services

The extension fetches data from OpenWeatherMap and the National Weather Service. These services may have their own privacy policies. The extension does not share your data with these services — it only sends city coordinates and zone identifiers.

Data Sales and Transfers

• We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties
• We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose (displaying Price County weather)
• We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

Children's Privacy

The extension does not collect any data from users, including children under 13.
